Mid-Century
PRIMARY SUITE REMODELING IN CONCORD, MA
This Concord primary suite was designed around a calm, cohesive palette of grey, white, and natural wood that runs consistently through the bathroom and closet. The color scheme suits the midcentury character of the home and gives the suite a warmth and restraint that feels intentional from every angle.
Floating vanities anchor the bathroom, giving the space an openness that a floor-mounted vanity wouldn't deliver in the same footprint. The soaking tub is positioned to take full advantage of the natural light in the room, and the walk-in shower completes the bathroom with the same clean lines that run through the rest of the suite. Natural wood tones bring warmth to what could have easily read as a cold, neutral space and tie the bathroom visually to the closet alongside it.
Platt Cabinetry, our in-house millwork team, built custom closet built-ins designed around the specific needs of the people using the space. The built-ins provide dedicated organization for clothing, accessories, and everyday items, finished with the same craftsmanship and material quality that carries through the rest of the suite.
Concord has a meaningful concentration of midcentury homes that reward renovation when it is done with the character of the original architecture in mind. A grey, white, and natural wood palette is not an obvious choice for a primary suite, but in the context of a midcentury home it is exactly right. The restraint is the point.
