Sophisticated in the Suburbs

KITCHEN REMODELING IN SUDBURY, MA

Designed in collaboration with KT2 Design Group, this Sudbury kitchen was ready for a layout that could keep up with how a large family actually uses the space. The walnut island was significantly expanded and topped with quartz countertops, giving the kitchen a proper centerpiece that works as hard as the rest of the room.

Two dedicated entertainment areas were built into the design. A wet bar with multiple undercounter refrigeration units handles the drink side of entertaining, and a dry bar set between the refrigerator and a 30-inch column freezer gives the kitchen a second staging area that keeps food and beverage prep organized and out of the main cooking zone. Fully retractable doors open the space up when the household is entertaining and close it down when they are not, giving the kitchen intentional flexibility built directly into the cabinetry.

Platt Cabinetry, our in-house millwork team, built all cabinetry throughout, finished in either stained walnut or painted White Dove. The two finishes work together across the space, with the walnut bringing warmth and the White Dove keeping the room feeling bright and open. The material consistency across the island, the bars, and the surrounding cabinetry gives the kitchen a cohesion that carries from one end of the room to the other.

Large family homes in Sudbury and across the MetroWest area often have kitchens that were designed for a different era of entertaining. The layouts are adequate but not built around how the household actually gathers. A kitchen that separates prep, cooking, and entertaining into distinct zones changes how the room gets used on the days that matter most.

Platt Builders works with homeowners throughout Sudbury and surrounding MetroWest communities including Wayland, Concord, Marlborough, and Framingham on custom kitchen remodeling projects. If your kitchen is ready for a proper update, reach out.
