BATHROOM REMODELING IN WAYLAND, MA

Designed in collaboration with Vivian Robins Design, now Arketa Design, this Wayland bathroom was built around three young sisters who needed a space that could actually keep up with all of them. A layout change separates the shower from the custom double vanity, which makes the room function significantly better for a shared bathroom where multiple people are getting ready at the same time.

Baby blue cabinetry anchors the vanity area, finished with gold hardware that carries through the light fixtures, sink fixtures, and shower fittings. White fishscale tile brings texture and a playful quality to the space that works at every age, and the sophisticated wallpaper chosen by Arketa Design ties the room together with pattern and personality. The finishes are cheerful without being childish, which matters in a bathroom designed to grow alongside its occupants over the years.

Shared bathrooms in Wayland and across the surrounding Middlesex County communities are among the most frequently used and least considered spaces in a family home. A bathroom shared by three children has different functional demands than one designed for two adults, and a layout that accounts for that from the start changes how the room works every single morning. Getting the vanity separation right is often the difference between a room that causes conflict and one that runs on its own.
