Suite Guest Bath
BATHROOM REMODELING IN WAYLAND, MA
This Wayland guest bathroom was designed in collaboration with Vivian Robins Design, now Arketa Design, and the result is a room with a clear point of view. A custom pastel green vanity anchors the space, finished with gold hardware that carries through into the shower and ties the room together from one end to the other. Hexagonal tiling brings its own quiet detail to the floors, adding texture and a classic format that works well alongside the bolder design choices elsewhere in the room. Double sinks complete the vanity, making the space as practical as it is considered.
Pastel green, gold, florals, and hex tile are a lot of ingredients to balance, and the finished room carries them all without any single element pulling against the others. That kind of confidence in a design comes from working through the material relationships carefully before anything is committed to. Arketa Design brought that discipline to the process, and it shows in how settled the room feels despite the range of what it is doing.
Guest bathrooms present a specific design opportunity that primary bathrooms do not. The room does not have to accommodate the daily routine of the people who live there, which opens up space for design choices that are more expressive and less utilitarian. A guest bathroom is often where a home gets to show a different side of itself, and this project takes full advantage of that.
Homeowners throughout Wayland and the surrounding Middlesex County communities increasingly treat the guest bathroom as a design statement rather than an afterthought. It is one of the smaller rooms in the house and one of the more memorable ones when it is done well.
Platt Builders works with homeowners and design partners throughout Wayland and surrounding Middlesex County communities including Sudbury, Natick, Framingham, and Weston on custom bathroom remodeling projects. If you are ready to give your guest bath a proper redesign, let's talk.
