GARAGE BUILDING IN SUDBURY, MA

This Sudbury property needed more space for a couple of prized vehicles, and the answer was a two-level barn-style garage that looks like it has always belonged on the site. Platt Builders partnered with The Barnyard, a specialist in traditional barn structures, directing the client through the selection process to find a style that would sit naturally among the mature trees on the property.

The work began with site preparation: tree removal and foundation work to get the ground ready before The Barnyard assembled the barn kit. Platt Builders stepped back in after assembly to finish the structure with insulation, electricity, and drywall, bringing it up to the standard of a properly finished space rather than a raw shell.

A shed dormer on the upper level creates a workspace above the garage floor, giving the building a second function beyond vehicle storage. The trim work throughout adds personality and gives the barn a finished, considered exterior that holds its own alongside the main house. The traditional style was a deliberate choice for this property, and the mature tree setting makes it feel settled and established from the moment it was completed.

Properties in Sudbury, Wayland, and across the MetroWest area often have the land to support an accessory structure like this, and the ones that work best are the ones designed to complement what is already there rather than stand apart from it. A barn-style garage on a wooded property is rarely a coincidence. It is usually a decision that was made carefully at the start.

Platt Builders works with homeowners throughout Sudbury and surrounding MetroWest communities including Wayland, Concord, Marlborough, and Framingham on custom garage and accessory building projects. If you need more space on your property, get in touch.
